Malaysia’s border will reopen to international travellers on April 1, 2022, after being closed for the last two years as the country enters the “Transition to Endemic” phase of Covid-19. Here’s the entry requirement for travellers arrive in Malaysia.
Test & Quarantine Procedures
All travellers arriving at Malaysia International Borders must:
1. Download & activate the MySejahtera application.
2. Complete the Pre-dpearture form in My Sejahtera through Traveller Icon.
3. Purchase Travel & Covid19 Insurance (For non-residing travellers)

Which categories are you belongs to?
Fully-vaccinated travellers & Children and adolescents aged 17 and below (Vaccinated or Unvaccinated):
Pre-departure: PCR test within two days before travelling
On-arrival test: RTK-Ag (professional) test within 24 hours.
Test and quarantine after arrival: No test/quarantine required.
Fully-vaccinated travellers who were recently infected with COVID-19 within 60 days before departure:
Pre-departure: RTK-Ag (professional) test two days before travelling.
On-arrival test: RTK-Ag (professional) test within 24 hours.
Test and quarantine after arrival: No test/quarantine required.
Non-vaccinated travellers, due to medical reasons (case by case basis):
Pre-departure: PCR test within two days before travelling
On-arrival test: RTK-Ag (professional) test within 24 hours.
Test and quarantine after arrival: No test/quarantine (results based on case to case basis)
Partially vaccinated / Not vaccinated
Pre-departure: PCR test within two days before travelling
On-arrival test: RTK-Ag (professional) test within 24 hours.
Test and quarantine after arrival: Quarantine for 5 days. PCR test on day 4 / RTK-Ag on day 5

Frequent Asked Questions
1. If I’m arriving before 1st April and undergoing quarantine, when should my quarantine ends?
If you’re arriving Malaysia before 1st April 2022 and undergoing quarantine, your quarantine period will end on 1st April 2022.
2. Will Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) continues?
For vaccinated travel lanes countries that have not freely reopened their borders such as Singapore will still continue to ease travelers from quarantine. VTL Thailand & Cambodia will be announced soon.
3. What document do you need to proof as Covi-19 Recovered Travellers?
- Travellers must have completed their Covid-19 vaccination with proof of vaccination status
- Evidence to show that you were infected with Covid-19 within 11 days to 60 days before departure to Malaysia with test result.
- (If you’re infected in Malaysia, you can get tested with CLEA and request for Positive test result from doctor during your positive period)
- Travellers with a history of hospitalisation due to Covid-19 are required to submit a “Fit to Travel” letter from hospital
