Are you one of them who still believes in these sex myths ? Before continue reading, here are some words that are associated with sex that you may have heard of. Familiar with “Oysters” , “Standing Up Position” , “Pulling out” , “Period Sex” ?

Sex Myth #1
“Oysters can make you horny.”

There is no scientific proof that oysters help with maintain erections, improve stamina or enhance arousal.
Oysters are rich in Vitamin D, Copper, Magnesium, Iron and Omega-3 fatty acids which can lead to a healthy body. Indirectly, supports healthy sex drive.
Other than being a protein source, oysters are rich in zinc. Deficient of zinc can cause impotence. Zinc is essential building block for testosterone, so it supports a healthy libido and sperm production. Zinc also helps to amplify production of dopamine, a type of neurotransmitter for the way in which we experience pleasure. More dopamine may lead to heightened sexual arousal. However, Zinc is common enough in other foods, such as chicken and turkey, and no one considers poultry an aphrodisiac. (Source: theturekclinic)
Sex Myth #2
“Pulling Out” is an effective contraceptive method.

The “pulling out” method, also called withdrawal involves pulling the penis out of the vagina before ejaculation. (Source: mayoclinic)
Pre-cum is another risk. Most people only release a small amount, and it doesn’t typically contain sperm. However, sperm cells lingering in the urethra from a recent ejaculation can mix with the pre-cum, which means pregnancy can occur even when full ejaculation doesn’t occur within the vagina.
Even if you manage to nail your timing and pull out before ejaculating, even a tiny bit of the fluid can get lead to pregnancy. (Source: healthline)
Sex Myth #3
Unprotected Period Sex cannot get you pregnant.

Absolutely NOT ! You can still get pregnant. Women are not able to conceive whilst on their period, but sperm can survive within the female reproductive system for up to 5 days. A tiny percentage of women do have a small chance of becoming pregnant from unprotected sex during their period. It depends on the length of menstrual cycle.
For instance, if your menstrual cycle is shorter than 28 days and you have sex towards the end of your six-day-long period and ovulate shortly after, there is a chance of survival of of sperms and you could get pregnant. It is technically possible to get pregnant, especially if you don’t know your fertile window. (Source: Naturalcycles)
Sex Myth #4
Standing Up Sex Position can eliminate risk of pregnancy.

No ! It is definitely NOT TRUE ! Position has nothing to do with getting pregnant. The egg and sperm can still move in whatever position your body is. (Source: kaiserpermanente.org)
In other words, Standing up sex position will not reduce the risk of getting pregnant. When a guy ejaculates during vaginal sex, millions of sperm are propelled into the woman’s vagina. Standing up won’t keep the sperm from reaching the egg. Neither will jumping up and down after sex, douching or rinsing out your vagina after sex, or having sex in the water.
